Jean Carl Bodkin, 71, of 850 N. Metcalf, died in Memorial Hospital 10:30 a.m. Saturday where he had been a patient a day. He had been ill three years.
He was born in Mount Cory, Dec. 25, 1891, and lived in Lima 55 years.
He served in World War I overseas with the Army's 79 th Division.
He was employed more than 50 years as chief clerk to the yardmaster of the Nickel Plate Road, retiring in 1960.
Mr. Bodkin is survived by his wife, Agnes; a daughter, Mrs. Dana (Betty) Aukerman of 850 Brendenwood Dr.; a son, Allen J. of 1205 Melrose; a sister, Mrs. Nell Steiner of St. Marys; and two brothers, Edward of Washington, D. C. and Ralph of Vandalia.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Brotherhood of Railway Clerks.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday in Cantwell-Sweet Mortuary with Rev. Norman Hagley officiating.
Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. today.
