Services are 10:30 a.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye with burial in Home Cemetery in Sleepy Eye.
Visitation is 4-6:30 p.m. Sunday and 7:30-8:30 a.m. on Monday at the Sturm Funeral Home in Sleepy Eye, and one hour prior to services at the church.
She is survived by children Glenn Walden of Albequerque, N.M., Joyce and husband Hugh Edmondson of MInnetonka, Janice and husband John Albrecht of Pinehurst, N.C.; four grandchildren; sister Frieda Kohls of Redwood Falls; sisters-in-law Hazel Christensen of Redwood Falls, Evon Christensen of Paynesville, Ruth and husband Ambrose Mathiowetz of Hastings.
She was preceded in death by her husband Herman in 1988; daughter Berneda Marie in 1945; granddaughter Lynn Albrecht in 1992 and sisters Clara Kohls and Ruth Domke.
She was born April 4, 1911 in Evan to Jens and Magda (Hansen) Christensen. On March 27, 1929 she married Herman D. Walden in Evan at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church. The couple made their home in Sleepy Eye until 1951 when they moved to New Ulm. They retired in 1973 and returned to the Ross Park Apartments in Sleepy Eye. In 1991 Emma entered St. John Lutheran Home in Springfield. She worked at Del Monte, Ben Franklin, Rawlings, and Woolworths. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye, Ladies Aid, Gloria Del Church Circle and the Sleepy Eye Senior Citizens Center.
