Daughter of Curtis Robert and Mattie Collins Rogers, wife of Earl Beecham Rasberry.

MULLINS - Mrs. Vonita Rogers Rasberry, 80, died Monday, January 3, 2011 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Rasberry was born May 17, 1930 in Marion County, a daughter of the late Curtis Robert Rogers and the late Mattie Collins Rogers Avant. She retired from Sun Fun Sportswear after 33 years of service. Mrs. Rasberry, who was known as a great Bible teacher and mentor, dearly loved her Lord and always put the word of God in first place of her life. She was a member of Marion Church of God and attended Grace Community Church.

Surviving Mrs. Rasberry are four children, Curtis Rasberry of Mullins, Pat Rasberry Martin (Wendell) of Galivants Ferry, Dennis Rasberry (Debra) of Mullins and Ricky Rasberry (Sandy) of South Bend, Indiana; a sister, Addie Mae Causey of Lancaster; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Rasberry was predeceased by her husband Earl Rasberry and a great granddaughter, Olivia Faith Martin.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 5 at the Chapel of Cox-Collins Funeral Home, with Rev. Daniel Stalvey officiating. Burial will follow in Watson Cemetery.
