Daughter of Joel(or Joe)Henry and Susan Lynch(Miller) Dyer.She had five brothers.On July 26,1870 she married Charles Goodnight in Hickman,Kentucky.( The following information was supply by acy_cay07@yahoo.com on 9/23/2010 at 3:20:34 P.M.)On July 26,1870,Charles Goodnight married Molly Dyer,his longtime sweetheart,who had taught school at Weatherford,Tx. After the wedding at the home of relatives in Hickman,Kentucky,the newlyweds returned to the Rock Canon. The "First Lady" of the Palo Canyon was at the only woman on the vast JA Ranch established by Goodnight and John Adair in 1877. Molly become doctor,nurse,homemaker,spiritual comforter,sister and mother to the hands who worked for her husband. Molly was fourteen years old when she was brought to Fort Belknap,Texas,1854 by her father and mother. Molly's father: Joel(or Joe)Henry Dyer had been a prominent attorney in Tennessee before he settled his family Texas. Molly met Charles Goodnight at Fort Belknap about 1864. In the Mid-to-late 1860s she moved to Weatherford,Texas,to teach. She helped establish Goodnight College in 1898.
