ROCKPORT, Ind. -- Bernard Alvey, 86, of Rockport died Wednesday, June 13, 2001, at Professional Care Rehabilitation in Dale, Ind. The Rockport native was a kiln man for the Rockport Sanitary Pottery and an Army veteran of World War II. His wife, Mary Bell Alvey, died in 1991. Survivors include five sons, Charles Alvey of LaPort, Ind., and Joseph Alvey and Bill Alvey, both of Rockport, and Wyman Alvey and Lee Alvey, both of Santa Claus, Ind.; three daughters, Frances Canada, Ida Smith and Elizabeth Freeman, all of Rockport; and three sisters, Martine Payne of Dale, Ida Payton of Rockport and Florence Fair of Athens, Ohio. Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery in Rockport. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. today and after 8 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
