Mrs. Hazel Tolice Thompson Martin, age 88, of Widener, died Friday at the St. Bernard's Hospital in Jonesboro. She had been in poor health for the past several months.

Mrs. Martin was born June 3, 1922, and was the daughter of Flanders Thompson and Ethel Gill Thompson. She lived in St. Francis County most all of her life, was a housewife, and was a member of the Widener Baptist Church.

Mrs. Martin married Charlie Eugene Martin and he preceded her in death in 1999. She is survived by one daughter, Mildred Louise Harris of Widener, one brother, Elmer 'Bo' Thompson of Forrest City, one granddaughter, Sandra Kay Harris Herbert of Widener, and several nieces and nephews. She had one son, Charlie Roy Martin, two brothers; Wilford Marion Thompson and Francis Thompson, one sister, Mildred Louise Thompson Dunn, who all preceded her in death.

Services for Mrs. Martin will be held at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 2:00 P.M., Tuesday, with burial in Mt. Vernon Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday evening 6:00 till 8:00 P.M., at Stevens Funeral Home with Stevens Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
