Lazarus was not a son of Newton Holman . . . Lazarus was the eldest son of David Holman and Rachel Frost of Iredell County, North Carolina. He was the eldest of 12. Lazarus was born in Rowan County, NC before his parents moved to Iredell County.[From Contributor, Steve Murdock, [email protected]]

History of Maries Co, MO by King, pge 484: Son of Newton Holman; he was married Oct 16, 1823 to Elizabeth Chambers Steele, who was born Feb 27, 1801 and died Sept 27, 1854. They were the parents of seven children: David Steele, Henry Wilson, Mary Susannah, Rachel Louisa, Margaret Jane and John James Andrew Holman.
