Ellen Virginia Chriesman was the daughter of Horatio Chriesman and Augusta Ann (Hope) Chriesman. She was born in 1835 in Austin's Colony, Texas and died in 1881 in Burleson Co., Texas. She married McRuffin Nelms 23 Sep 1854 in Burleson Co., Texas. He was the son of William W. Nelms and Ann M. (Allen) Mack Nelms.
Ellen's sister, Cornelia E. Chriesman, married McRuffin's brother William Gaston Nelms.
