Funeral services for Lon Jones, 59, who died Sunday in Atlanta, Ga following a short illness, were held Tuesday afternoon at the Presbyterian church in Silver Point; burial was in the family cemetery.
A native of Putnam, he was the son of Robert L and Mary Dyer Jones. He was a merchant and former traveling salesman.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs Essie Scudder Jones; a son, Tom L, Atlanta; 3 brothers, Roscoe and Virgil, Silver Point; Solon, Knoxville; 2 sisters, Mrs W C Medlin, Smithville; Mrs Lon Pullum, Donelson.
