Ralph, Doris and Connor Day of Sam Rayburn, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 in Wyoming. The family had strong ties to their community, running Day Forestry Appraisal and Management in Jasper, Texas.

Ralph contributed to the Jasper community as a businessman and father. He was active in the Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 1219, a volunteer with the Young Eagles and Boy Scouts, and a member of the Lions Club. Ralph was born July 6, 1954 in Atlanta. His family lived several places before settling in Bloomington, Indiana. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Forestry from Purdue University in 1976.

Doris was dedicated to her son and the family business. She was born December 25, 1957, in Floresville, Texas. An avid nature photographer, Doris had photos published in magazines and calendars. She also volunteered with the Boy Scouts.

Connor excelled in school and the arts, playing guitar and drums. He was born January 19, 1998 in Beaumont, Texas. Conner was a member of Boy Scout Troop 932.

Services will be at 11am on Saturday, January 22, at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Jasper. A rosary will be held at 9am. Following services the family will receive friends from 2-4pm at the Jasper Lions Club Community Center, 510 State Street, in Jasper. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Boy Scouts of America.

Services are under the direction of Stringer & Griffin Funeral Home Jasper.
