Stroke Sustained Three Weeks Ago Proves Fatal; Funeral on Monday

Edward Alton, 58 years of age, died at 5:40 o'clock this morning at his home, 310 Corunna avenue. Mr. Alton suffered a paralytic stroke nearly three weeks ago and his condition had been critical since then.

The funeral will be held at the Jennings' funeral home at 2:30 o'clock Monday afternoon with the Rev. Mr. Bowser of the Baptist Church of Ovid, officiating. Interment will take place at Hill Crest Cemetery. The remains will rest at the residence until Monday noon.

Mr. Alton was born at Kirkfield, Ont., on October 1, 1873, the son of Mr. and Mrs. James Alton. At the age of 15 years, he came to Michigan, settling here.

On New Year's Eve, 38 years ago, he was married to Miss Blanche McAfee and they made there home here until 1912 when they moved to Toledo. Ten years ago they returned to this city.

He is survived by the widow and three brothers, William R. Alton of Owosso, and James and Charles Alton of Victoria Road, Ont.

Mr. Alton was a member of the Masonic lodge.
