John was appointed administrator of his fathers estate. Old family records state that, John and his brother, Jacob were twins born October 15, 1816. His obituary stated he was born Sept 15, 1815. This date in his obituary is wrong. If you look at the 1900 census records he is living with his son Jacob Benjamin Culler, and his birth in the census record is October 1816.

John and his family, and his brother Jacob and his family, went to Missouri as a part of a German Colony. In 1845 Dr. William Keil and 500 colonist took a boat down the Ohio River to their destinies, and from their to Bethel, Shelby County, Missouri. Jacob later in 1849 move to a new colonies north of Bethel in Adair County. This colonies was call Nineveh. (See Jacob's notes)

John Culler died on July 30 last at the home of his daughter Mrs. James Craigmyle near Plevna. He was born Sept 15, 1815, and was in his 88th year. Burial took place in the King graveyard. He leaves two sons and four daughters.
