Lettie Crew Powell, 95, of Clanton died Wednesday, Feb 25, 2009, at Chilton Medical Center, Clanton. She was born on Saturday, Dec. 13, 1913 in Coosa County, daughter of the late James Isaac Crew and the late Queenie DeVaughn. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are her three grandchildren, Brandon Dennis of Birmingham, Ashley Robbins of Birmingham and Kadie Whatley of Birmingham, 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Clara Smith of Clanton; brother, J.B. Crew of Tallassee; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Powell; daughter, Rhonda Dennis.
Services will be Friday, Feb. 27, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jay Hurd and Rev. Matt DeBoard officiating. Interment will follow in Clanton City Cemetery.
