The following obituary was read at the services.

Bessie Clement Beedy was born July 29, 1846 at Driden, New York and passed away April 2, 1932 at her home in McDonald, Kansas at the age of 85 years, 8 months and three days. On February 18, 1872 she was married to Elbridge Knight Beedy at Courtland, Ill. To this union six children were born, one died in infancy, a daughter, Mrs. Beech Berry also preceded her mother in death. Those surviving are Mr. Clement Beedy of Sharon Springs, Miss Belle Beedy, Mrs. Frizzie May Berry, and Miss Goldie of McDonald. Mrs. Beedy is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one sister, Mary Osbern of Perkin, Ill. Her brother, James Clement passed away last year.

Mrs. Beedy's husband enlisted in the Union Army at the age of 14 and served some time as a drummer, later as a soldier and served until the end of the war. Mr. Beedy died in Eddie, New Mexico, September 5, 1890. The family moved to Agra, Kans., in May 1891, two years later to a farm on the Beaver south of McDonald where they lived until a few years ago. In 1926, Mrs. Beedy and her daughters came to McDonald where she resided until her death.

She was a good Christian woman, a kind loving mother and wife and has many friends that will greatly miss her.

We take this means of expressing our heartfelt thanks to our friends and neighbors for their help and assistance during the illness and death of our mother, and for the many kind words of sympathy. We also wish to thank the singers and for the floral offerings.
