Rites to be today for Mrs. Phillips

Funeral services for Mrs. Bessie Ellen Phillips, who died Sunday at her home, 3531 Fourteenth street northwest, will be held today at the S. H. Hines funeral parlors, Fourteenth and Harvard streets. The Rev. Russell J. Clinchy of Mt. Pleasant Congregational Church will officiate.
Mrs. Phillips, wife of Harry C. Phillips of the H.C. Phillips Advertising Co., had been ill more than a year. Born in Randolph, VT, she came to Washington with her family in 1910. A member of Mt. Pleasant Congregational Church, she had been actively associated with the citizen's forum and other civic organizations on Columbia Heights.

Besides her husband Mrs. Phillips is survived by three children, Kathryn T. Phillips, Mrs. Hester G. Moore and Clinton Phillips; a sister Alice G. Woodward of Washington; two brothers, Dr. Walter C. Woodward of Seattle, Wash., and Guy Woodward, of Wolf Point, Mont., and four grandchildren.
