He married three times:
(1) His first wife's name is unknown
(2) Abigail Sivley Williams on 1 Jan 1850 in Scioto Co., OH
(3) Martha McCollum on 13 May 1856 in Harrisburg, PA
Elmadorous & his first wife appear to have had about six children. The names of those who are known are: Matilda Jane (Killinger); John William; Memphis Tremain (Snavely, Bell); & Tatny Zane. One source also includes a daughter named Empress Vandalia; we have not been able to verify that name.
Elmadorous & Abigail had no known children.
Elmadorous & Martha had five interestingly-named children: Myrtle Elmore; Okeno Molletto "Oakie"; Og Wilt; Emma Wintossee; and Onyx Curwen. Onyx was the only one of Elmadorous & Martha's children to marry.
Elmadorous worked in the family business ("William Sprinkle & Sons, Hatters"), as the "runner" or "travelling hatter." In this capacity, he peddled hats up the Wilderness Road to Pennsylvania, and down the Kanawha River to Ohio.
There is a large on-the-ground, tablet-like marker in the Sprinkle lot, which is in memory of Elmadorous, his wife Martha, four of his children by Martha, and son Onyx's wife Bell.
