Mrs. Mary Ellen Dawes, 60, died March 8 at Cookeville General Hospital following an extended illness. She was the wife of Byrd Dawes and a resident of Silver Point Rt 1.
Funeral services for Mrs. Dawes were held Sunday at Baxter Funeral Home with Rev Malcolm Rodgers officiating. Burial was at Boma Cemetery.
Mrs. Dawes was a native of Putnam County, daughter of Henry and Mary Jane Maxwell Boyd and was a member of the Baptist Church.
Other survivors are four sons, Dallas Roberts, Mont Pelier, Ind.; Richard J, William B, and James Arnold Roberts, all of Hartford City, Ind.; two sisters, Mrs. Charles McPherson, Salem, NJ; Mrs. Arnold Allison, Baxter.
