From "The Minteers As I Have Known Them" by Josephine Minteer Dickinson (1961 limited-edition private printing of 200 copies), youngest and last surviving of William Minteer and Mary Nicholson's 85 grandchildren:

"Elton Gaiser - Married Lenora Dickey and lives on the Gaiser farm near Craigsville. They have five children, Cora May, Barbara, Jerry, Henry and Susan."
----------
In 1930 he and his parents and sister lived on a farm they owned in West Franklin Township. Their home was valued at $4500 and they did not have a radio.

In 1940 the four of them still lived there. Their home was valued at only $2200 after the Great Depression.

In 1950 he, his wife, their two children, and his father's brother Elmer lived there on the farm. Lenora worked as a registered nurse in a hospital.
