MRS. MONTGOMERY
Mary Queen Montgomery, 88, of Grand Junction, Colo., formerly of Eddy County and Carlsbad, died yesterday in Grand Junction. She had made her home there for the last eight years.
Services are pending at West Funeral Home.
Mrs. Montgomery was born in Texas April 29, 1882. When she was a young girl, the family moved to Ysleta, Tex., and in 1896 they moved to the Guadalupe Mountains where they settled.
The Queen area in the Guadalupe Mountains was named for Mrs. Montgomery's parents.
In 1944, she moved to Carlsbad where she purchased a home and lived there until moving to Grand Junction. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Surviving are a son, John Montgomery of Grand Junction; four grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
