"Ward's book". The article says that Bradley Halford came to Gilmer Co with his father-in-law, David (and Mary) Sisson. "The first Mrs. Bradley Halford was Sarah Sisson." HOWEVER, note that in the 1850 census of Gilmer Co, the wife of Bradley Holford is shown as "Caroline M." (Some research in the Sisson family has Sarah listed as Sarah Caroline Sisson).

He is 31; she is 18, but already has 3 children. In 1860, his wife is indeed Sarah; he is 39; she is 37. In 1870, his wife is Elizabeth; he is 49; she is 32. In 1880, his wife is once again Sarah; he is 54; she is 44, born TN.

"His second wife, whom he married after he came to Gilmer was Elizabeth Sisson, another daughter of David Sisson." (Elizabeth is listed with her parents in 1850 & 1860 - in 1850 she is 14; in 1860 she is 21; this age of 21 in 18860 would match Elizabeth Halford's age of 32 in 1870 census.

"His second wife, Elizabeth, died on or near April 7, 1873. He subsequently married a third time to a widow who had previously been the wife of one of the pioneer Pattersons, one of her sons being John. Bradley Halford died Mar 25, 1885, at the age of 64. His third wife survived him by about 12 years."
