FOSTER, Donald Jay age 86, passed away November 25, 2010, in Lancaster, California. He was born August 5, 1924 in Chicago, Illinois. Donald served in the Navy during WWII and in the Army reserve Unit 316 with 42yrs of continues military service. He received his Masters Degree in public administration from Pepperdine University. Donald retired from the L.A.P.D. July 4, 1998 with 48yrs of service and was at the time the oldest and had the longest years in service. While in the L.A.P.D. he was awarded in 1952, the Police Medal of Valor the highest award in the L.A.P.D.. He was a gun enthusiast, enjoyed organizing yard sales, selling at swap meets, and being with family and friends. Donald is survived by two sons and one daughter, Kenneth (Judy) Foster of San Marcos, California, Kathleen (Terry) Munz of Lancaster, California, Kevin (Donna) Foster of Jamul, California, 14 grandchildren, seven grandchildren, and daughter-in-law Sherri Foster of San Diego, California. He was preceded in death by his son Kirk Foster.
