Erskine E. Holt, 76, 1701 S. Jefferson St., died late Friday night at the Delaware County Home after an illness of six years.
He was a lifelong resident of Delaware County. Mr. Holt was formerly employed as an interior decorator. A veteran of World War I, he was a member of American Legion Post 19, World War I Barracks 139, and the Full Gospel Temple.
Surviving are his wife, Scyleesa; one son, Frederic Leon Holt, Muncie; six daughters, Mrs. Jeannette Conn, Pittsville, Wis., Mrs. Clara Busby, Jacksonville, Fla., Mrs. Dorothy Davenport, Shideler, Mrs. Kathryn Satterfield, Mrs. Fannie Hanson and Mrs. Martha Tomlinson, all of Muncie; two brothers, Roy Holt, Zephyr Falls, Fla., and Cornelius Holt, Muncie; 33 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Parson Mortuary with Rev. James Helton, pastor of the Full Gospel Temple. Burial will be in Elm Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary after 7 p.m. Sunday.
