Anne Catherine was the daughter of Ernst Henrich Lücking and Anne Sophie Habbert, born in Hüllhorst, Prussia (what is now the Minden-Lübbecke district, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany). She was married to Johann Heinrich Broeker on Jan. 20, 1863.

Her son, Frederick, was the first to come to America in 1883. She then emigrated in 1884 with her daughter and three sons aboard the ship Eider from Bremen and Southhampton.

She stopped in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, to see her brother Christian H. Leeking on her way to Illinois.

She was a midwife.

Broeker - Kathleen (sic) Broeker, aged 85 years, 3 months, 2 days, died at 2.30 p.m. at the home of her son, Fred Broeker, 210 S. Hickory, Thursday. The funeral services will be held From the Evangelical Church, Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment at Elmwood Cemetery.
