June E. Schwietering, 87, of South Buffalo Township, passed Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2010, while in the company of family members at Fair Winds Manor, Sarver. June was born June 2, 1923, in Josephine, Pa., the daughter of the late Elmer and Vera (Dalstrom) Goughenour. She was the widow of Earl R. Schwietering, who passed in 2000. She work as a cook at the Freeport Area High School for many years. She was a member of Srader Grove United Presbyterian in South Buffalo Township. June was a past den mother with the Girl Scouts. She enjoyed craftwork, sewing and being with her family. She is survived by two daughters, Linda (Thomas) Windows, of South Buffalo Township, Brenda (Art) Hackett, of Wyomissing, Pa.; two sisters, Betty (John) Rassau, of Natrona Heights, Pat Shaw, of Franklin, Pa.; two grandchildren, Michael (Sara) Windows and Jodi (Jeff) Bichsel; two great-grandchildren, Emma and Hannah Windows. Family and friends are being received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the REDMOND FUNERAL HOME INC., 524 High St., Freeport. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Lay Pastor Robert Hindman officiating. Burial will be held in Freeport Cemetery, Freeport.
