Willie S. Hughes, Sr., was a pipe-fitter and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Margie (Dunbar) Hughes; a daughter, Mrs. Gerald (Theresa) Whitehead, Livingston; step-daughter, Margie Ann Koch, Austin, Texas; three sons, Dr. H. David Hughes and Dr. Milton Hughes, both of Denham Springs, and Willie S. Hughes Jr., Livingston; two step-sons, John D. and Fredrick W. Koch, both of Baton Rouge; five sisters, Genie Fairburn, Ada Chandler, Addie Simeon and Bertha Burge, all of Livingston, and Mrs. Louise Fairburn, Covington; a brother, Gerald Hughes, Livingston; 22 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by parents, Willie and Theresa Hughes; step-mother, Francis Broussard Hughes; and a brother, Henry Hughes.
