Medina County Gazette-May 14, 1885: died at his home in Montville Township, of typhoid pneumonia, on May 10, 1885, Mr. L. Frizzell, aged 77 years four months and 18 days. The Remains Were Taken to Windfall Cemetery for interment, accompanied by a large number of friends and relatives, at which place appropriate services were held, Rev. D. R. Moore, of Grangerburg, officiated. His remarks were based on a portion of scripture recorded in St. Luke's Gospel, a portion of the 12th chapter.
Lysander Frizzell, the subject of this sketch, was born in Franklin County, Massachusetts, December 22, 1807. At the age of 21 he removed to the northern part of the state of Vermont, spending about six years there. In December 1834, he came to Ohio, settling in Wadsworth Township; was married to Miss Harriet Robinson, with whom he raised six children, three sons and three daughters. One son and three daughters passed away some years ago. Two sons who survive him; one residing on the old homestead, the other living in Hinckley Township. The farm on which she located with nearly all timber, as well as the country surrounding it, consequently he experienced many of the hardships of pioneer life. By industry and frugality he acclimated considerable property. He was widely known and highly respected by all who knew him. His moral character was one worthy of imitation. In a show in years he had not yet been ages of obtaining more than a limited education, yet by reading and study he developed his intellectual and conversational powers to such an extent that he could converse on almost any subject you let me and intelligently. He was always kind and social, greeting his friends with a warm welcome and words of cheer and comfort. Strictly temperate in all things, honest and up right in all his dealings with his fellow man, ever ready to confer on those in need, if the means were within his reach, also generous in supporting and encouraging charitable, benevolent and religious institutions, a special friend to education, a legacy he desired to leave to his children, to fit and qualified them for the various duties of life.
In early life that dreadful disease, dyspepsia, began to pray on his constitution, from the effects of which he has been a long and patient sufferer to the end. It was only by being strictly temperate in his habits and by exercising the utmost care and dieting that he could at times indoors is suffering. In the early part of the past winner he visited the same way over rough roads, from the effects of which he was prostrated, doubtful, but he finally reigned in his usual health, until in accordance with the above fact his mortal life was ended. The relatives have the sincerest sympathy of the community in their sorrow and be read in it. Maybe look to God and Say "Thy will be done".
