ARWICK, Conn. - Edward W. Marshall, 68, died Sunday, March 28, 2004, at Gilmore Memorial Hospital in Amory. He was born March 6, 1936. He served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged with the rank of sergeant. He then served for more than 20 years as a police officer on the campus of the University of Connecticut. After retiring, he served Avery Point in Groton, Conn., as a police officer. He moved to Aberdeen in 1996, where he served as a U.S. Marshal at the Federal Court House in Aberdeen.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at New Hebron M.B. Church in the Egypt community. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Westbrooks Funeral home of Aberdeen is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Elvera McAllister Marshall; four sisters, Elizabeth Ann Marshall of North Haven, Conn., Charlene Marshall Goldson of Newport News, Va., and Carol Ann Marshall and Deborah Marshall Thompson of Norwich, Conn.; his father, Burchard Marshall of Jewett City, Conn.; four uncles, Andrew Marshall, Robert Marshall, Harry Louis Marshall and Vincent Marshall; two grandsons, Timothy Hodges and Michael McAlister; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, followed by a wake from 6 to 7 p.m. The body will lie in state at the church one hour before services.
