Born May 2, 1945, in Gettysburg, he was the son of the late Lawrence H. and Angela (Rosensteel) Eckert, Jr.
Mr. Eckert was a Veteran of the United States Army serving during Vietnam.
He worked at McDermitt, Inc. and as a woodworker at Harney Woodworking. Mr. Eckert was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Gettysburg.
He is survived by his two children, Christopher Eckert and wife, Rachel Holsinger of Lexington, KY, and Kimberly Eckert and husband, Thomas Slusser, Jr. of Dover; three grandchildren, Lauren, Lydia, and Leah, all of Dover; one sister, Pamela Jones of Gettysburg; and one brother, Richard Eckert of Gettysburg.
Interment with full military honors was in Evergreen Cemetery, Gettysburg.
