Mrs. Mary Ann Thomas, 90, who had been making her home with 3 daughters in Burlington the last few years, died Thursday (July 31, 1952) at 4:30 p.m. in Burlington hospital.
She was born in Belfast, Ireland July 20, 1862, and came to the U.S. at the age of 6. She had lived in Burlington for 38 years, coming here from Biggsville, Illinois.
September 10, 1885, she married Evan Thomas in Biggsville. He died in Burlington October 23, 1943. She was a member of Williamson Memorial United Presbyterian church, Harriett Milne missionary circle, and Ladies Aid of the church.
Surviving are 4 daughters: Mrs. Irene Wilkerson of Pasadena, California, Mrs. Anna Brust, Mrs. Bessie Crabb and Mrs. Ellen Redfern of Burlington: a sister, Mrs. Ella Boyd of Biggsville: 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; a number of nieces and nephews. A son, 3 brothers, and 3 sisters are also dead.
Services will be Sunday at 2 p.m. in Burnett Wallen funeral home. Reverend H. J. Findlay will officiate. Burial will be in Biggsville cemetery. Navy mothers will attend services in a body.
