Aviation Pioneer. The last surviving financial backer of Charles A. Lindbergh's transatlantic flight. He was a former president of the Lambert Pharmacal Company and of the old Lambert Aircraft Corporation, which made light planes. The present St. Louis airport (Lambert International Airport) is named for his brother, Major Albert Bond Lambert. Albert and J.D. participated in early cross-country balloon races. A graduate of Princeton University, he spent most of his busines life with the family's pharmacal company, which manufactured Listerine. He served in France during WWI as a Lieutenant with the 79th Division.
