COOKEVILLE Funeral services for Alma Irene Cowan Cunningham, 81, of Cookeville, formerly of Auburn, Calif., will be held Saturday, Aug. 12, at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Double Springs Cemetery. Family will receive friends Saturday, Aug. 12, from 11a.m.-1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Cunningham died Monday, Aug. 7, 2006, at her residence.
She was born June 6, 1925, in Cookeville to the late James Benjamin and Harve Terry Cowan.
Mrs. Cunningham was a homemaker and member of the Baptist faith. She was also a member of Eastern Star.
Her family includes a son and daughterinlaw, Michael and Christie Cunningham of Cookeville; a daughter and soninlaw,
Sherry and Cliff Sneed of Cookeville; three brothers and two sistersinlaw, Charles and Eleanor Cowan of Bluff City, Earl and Sylvia Cowan of Fairbanks, Alaska, and David Cowan
of Cookeville; two sisters, Dorthea Brodhag of Cookeville and Dimple Sherrill of Indianapolis, Ind.; seven
grandchildren; seven greatgrandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cunningham was preceded in death by her husband, James G. Cunningham; a son, James C. Cunningham; and a sister, Opal Allen.
