Zora Belle Nickoles Cole, age 90, of Columbus, MS, passed away November 29, 2010, at her residence. Funeral services will be Thursday, December 2, 2010, at 10:00 AM, at Gunter & Peel Chapel with Rev. Bo Bankston officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Memorial Gardens of Columbus. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 1, 2010, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Gunter & Peel Funeral Home.

Mrs. Cole was born June 5, 1920, in Pickens County, AL, to the late Levi and Velma Lee Sullivan Nickoles.

She retired from United Techologies after 25 years and was a charter member of Woodland Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cole was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Cole, daughter, Carol Ford, brothers, Edward, Ervin, Marvin, Lando, Lonzo, and Doyle Nickoles, sisters, Grace Ward and Dorothy Crouse, and step brother, Jim McCarty.

Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Ann Cole of Columbus; brother, Johnnie Ray Nicholes of Columbus; sisters, Brazy Potaracke of Columbus, and Earnestine Butler of Columbus; grandchildren, Cheryl Sturgis of Columbus, Mike Thompson of Thomasville, GA; great grandchildren, Kevin Sturgis, Christy Thompson, Jennifer Brackin, Jamie Martin, and Jana Zazueta; and great great grandchildren, Marlie Sturgis, Caleb Martin, Kiya Brackin, and Isabella Zazueta. Pallbearers will be Wayne Ellis, Duane Upton, Kevin Stokes, Danny Nickoles, Dale Parra, and Jack Kanemura.
