Frank J. Burns, 79, died Monday evening at the Missouri Valley hospital where he had been a patient for the past three weeks. He had been in ill health for some time.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, August 2, at 10:00 am from Sacred Heart Church with Father Fred Reischl conducting the Requiem Mass. Interment was in the Dunlap cemetery.
Frank Burns was born January 18, 1888, in Illinois and his family moved to Harrison County when he was about one year old. He lived on a farm east of Woodbine until 15 years ago, when he moved to Woodbine and went to work for the Harrison County Rural Electric Cooperative, retiring from his job when 70 years of age.
He is survived by two daughters and one son. Alice Mefferd of Woodbine, Dorothy Points of Belle Plaine, and Jack Burns of Oxnard, Calif.
