COURIER JOURNAL OBITUARY - 11/30/2010
MAIER - Anna Elizabeth, 68, of Louisville, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Sunday, November 28, 2010, after a long battle with cancer. She was retired from JCPS. She was a member of American Turners and a member of Am vets Auxiliary Post #9, where she also served in the past as president. She was a member of Christ Evangelical Church where she served on the Women's Guild, a choir member and past member and president of the church Council. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, William and Mary McAuliffe Ahern and siblings, William Jr., James, Mary Jo, Robert, Patricia, John, Donald and Michael. She is survived by her husband, William Maier and her children, Patrick Muthler (Cheryl), Andrea Muthler, Michael Muthler (Laura) and Kimberly Metcalf (Mike); grandchildren, Michael, Megan, Erin, Alyssa and Madelyn; siblings, Judith McAuliffe, Helen Heil and Beverly McAuliffe Bisig and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to thank the James Graham Brown Cancer Center and especially Dr. Donald Miller and Dr. Jason Chesney for their tireless efforts in helping Mom through her long battle with cancer. Hopefully through their studies, we can someday cure this terrible disease. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Christ Evangelical United Church of Christ, 1228 E. Breckenridge St. Entombment to follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Bosse Funeral Home, 1355 Ellison at Barret Avenue. Expressions of sympathy can be made to the James Graham Brown Cancer Center.
