Services will be at 11:30 a.m. today (July 9, 1981) at Connally Compton Downtown Chapel, the Rev. Otis Watson officiating. Burial will be in China Spring Cemetery.
Mr. Smith was born Aug. 26, 1913 in Coryell County. Her farmed in China Spring most of his life and was a member of Parkview Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Bessie Smith; three daughters, Mrs. June Powers of Valley Mills and Mrs. Dorris Hodges and Mrs. Jeaneen McNeely, both of Waco; three sons, Donald B. Smith and Roger D. Smith, both of Waco and Aubrey Ray Smith of Angleton; four sisters, Mrs. Virgie Gatlin and Mrs. Willie Dean Moore, both of Waco, Mrs. Margie Williams of Oklahoma and Mrs. Loraine Clemens of Crawford; a brother, Talbert Smith of Waco; 19 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
