Forrest A. (Puddin) Hines, 63, Holland Dr., died Wednesday at a Rome hospital.

Mr. Hines was born in Lindale, June 7, 1921, son of the late Walter O. Hines and Lois Shiflett Hines. He had lived his entire life in Floyd County and was a member of Calhoun Avenue Baptist Church. Prior to retirement Jan. 1, 1985, he was employed by Northwest Georgia Regional Hospital for 34 years as a skilled craftsman in the engineering department. He was a member of the Coosa Valley Historical Railroad Society.

Survivors include the widow, the former Julia Jones, to whom he was married Nov. 20, 1964; two sons, Charles Layman, Rome, and Bob Kelley, Lithia Springs; three daughters, Vicki Kelley, Rome, Diane Kelley, Marietta, and Mrs. Ruby Moore, Fort Myers, Fla.; two brothers, Russell Hines, Cedar Bluff, Ala., and Cliff Hines, Rome; five grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the chapel of Talley Brothers Funeral Home, with the Revs. Ray Culpepper and Wayne Hopper officiating. Interment will be at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers are Billy Nichols, Max Walker, K. M. Miller, Danny Alexander, Jerry Bishop and John Bates.
