His widow, Mary E Rogers, applied for his pension Nov 8 1918 in California.
Based on enlistment, his service included battles of Bruinsburg and Grand Gulf,LA (Apr 25-30,1863), Anderson's Hill(Apr 30), Port Gibson,Ms (May 1), Bayou Pierre(May 2-3), Champion's Hill,Ms(May 16), Big Black River(May 17), Siege of Vicksburg(May 18-Jul 4). Siege of Jackson,Ms (Jul 10-17), Western Louisiana Campaign (Oct 3- Nov 17), duty in Texas (Nov 17 May 4 1864), duty at Morganza, Simsport, Duvall's Bluff,Ark. until Jan 1865. Moved to Barrancas,FL( Feb 17 1864). Campaign against Mobile: Occupation of Canoe Station Mar 27, Siege of Ft Blakely Apr 2-9, occupation of Mobile Apr 12 1864 and duty until June.
