Mrs. Mary A. Barber of 420 Lorena Ave., Wood River died at her home there Thursday evening at 5:45 o' clock after a lingering illness of eight months.
She was born on what is now the Ryan farm three miles west of Edwardsville, on July 31, 1861 and had attained the age of 77 years, 6 months and 8 Days. She was married to George Barber on Sept. 26, 1884. He preceded her in death a number of years ago.
Two children were born to them, one dying in infancy. The surviving son, Marshall B. Barber, lives in Grand Blane, Mich. A number of nieces and nephews live in this vincinity. Two sisters, Mrs. Josephine Ryan and Mrs. Lizzie Lane preceded her in death.
The funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Baptist Church in Wood River. Bural will be at the Wanda Cemetery. The body will be at the Marks-Weber Funeral Home in Wood River.
Pallbearers will be a nephew, Elmer Lane, and five grand-nephews, Clarence Ryan, LaVern Meyer, Delbert Meyer, Charles Schroeder and Elder Larson.

She married George Barber (the son of Lyman Barber and Elizabeth Ann Judy) on 25 Sep 1884 in Edwardsville and divorced him in 1897.
There is also a family photo of Mary, George, Marshall and a young boy. That might be the child that died in infancy.
