She was born May 9, 1919, in Augusta County, a daughter of the late Russell J. and Elizabeth (Miller) Tobin.
Prior to retirement, she was employed by DuPont.
In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Davis.
Family members include a daughter and son-in-law, Vicky L. and David "Bo" Carroll of Verona; a son, Vernon Albert Lee of Scottsville; a step-daughter, Eloise Gill of Waynesboro; a foster granddaughter, Angela Freeman of Altavista; grandchildren, Taysha C. Simmons (Nathan), Jennifer McNeal (Jared), Gwen M. Carroll, all of Augusta County, and Aaron D. Carroll (Joni) of Montana; six great grandchildren, Heather Miles (Jacob), Rachel Cancino (Leo), Sarah Simmons, Grace, Tessa, and Sam McNeal; four great, great grandchildren; and several step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, and three foster grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, November 13, 2017, in White Hill Church of the Brethren Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday, November 12, 2017 in the Henry Funeral Home.
