Entered the service on June 9, 1944 and went overseas in November 1944. He trained at both Parris Island, South Carolina & Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

Killed in action on Iwo Jima

Originally interred on Iwo Jima, his remains were repatriated to US soil aboard the US transport Dalton Victory on December 5, 1948.
