Philip Skell
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 26, at the Eugene Hotel for Philip S. Skell of Eugene, who died Nov. 21 of age-related causes. He was 91.
He was born on Dec. 30, 1918, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Jacob and Molly Lipfriend Skell. He married Margo Fosse on Dec. 25, 1948, in Taft.
He held a bachelor of science degree from City College of New York, a master's degree from Columbia University and a doctorate from Duke University. He worked as a professor of chemistry at Penn State University.
Survivors include his life companion, Mary Lee Sinnamon; four children, Deborah Skell and Victoria Skell Cerf, both of Eugene, Jeffrey Skell of Westborough, Mass., and Aviva Heston of North Hollywood, Calif.; and eight grandchildren. His wives, Margo Fosse Skell and Dorothy Gerber Skell, died previously.
