Mrs. Hinson, age 90 of Charlotte passed away Sunday, November 21, 2010 at Presbyterian Hospital. She was born May 27, 1920 in Anson County NC daughter of the late John Dunn and Rosa Vera Gathings Ratliff. Mrs. Hinson was a member of First Baptist since 1940, a U.S. Navy veteran serving in WWII and taught in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools for 34 years In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband William Henry Hinson in 1995 and numerous brothers and sisters. A Service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 27, 2010 at McEwen Funeral Service Charlotte Chapel, 5716 Monroe Rd., Charlotte, NC 28212 conducted by Reverend Doctor Mark E. Harris and Reverend Michael Cummings. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Sharon Memorial Park.
