Son of Josef Carolus & Elizabeth Ann Scheer Stief. He married Emma Faye Watson. They has 2 daughters Margaret June Hernandez & Barbara Ann Montemayor. He had 1 sister Marie Sanders, & 1 stepsister Adele Screeton & 3 brothers Frank, Walter & Joseph Stief.

Bernard Adolph Stief, 96, St. Joseph, died Thursday Dec. 13, 2001, at a St. Joseph health-care center,
Mr. Stief worked in the construction industry. He was a veteran of the Army.
Born in Ellis, Kansas, on March 4, 1905, he had spent most of his life in St. Joseph. Mr Stief was of the Catholic faith, and a member of the Construction and General laborers Union local No. 1290.A.F.L. & C.I.O.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Elizabeth;three brothers, Walter,Frank, and Joseph; a stepsister, Adele Screeton; and a great-grandchild.
Surviving: two daughters, Margaret June Hernandez,St. Joseph, Mo., and Barbara Ann Montemayor, Houston, Texas; a sister Marie Sanders, Beaumont, Texas; 15 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren: and seven great-great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial: 10a.m. Monday, Horigan Chapel of Mount Olivet Cemetery, St. Joseph. Burial: Mount Olivet Cemetery. family visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Rupp Funeral Home, St. Joseph, where a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday. Memorials may be made to Kendallwood Hospice.
