Jacob married M. Emilly Hepper on 22 Feb 1881 at Highland EUC Church.

The union was blessed with five children, two boys and three girls.

Emilly moved to Troy, IL. on 8 Feb 1894 to take over the Brookside Hotel.

Her second marriage was on 19 June 1894 in Troy, IL. to E. J. Lambert.
