FATHER OF MRS. THOS. BLUNT DIED IN IDAHO AT AGE OF 92 YERS
Word has been received here by Mrs. Thomas Blunt of the death of her father, Francis Stephenson, age 91 years and 11 months, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Estella Starcher, at Shoshone, Idaho, Friday, December 7. Death was due to the infirmities of old age. Mr. Stephenson had been sick for about four weeks.
....He was a native of Mercer County, Ohio, and came to Kansas in 1861 and located on a farm in Johnson county. The trip was made in a spring wagon. There were no railroads west of the Mississippi river at that time. Mr. Stephenson retired from farming in 1913 and moved his family to Soldier, Kansas, where they resided for two years. Mr. and Mrs. Stephenson came to Colorado in 1915 and made their home in Florence until 1917, the time of Mrs. Stephenson's death. Since then he had been living with the different children in Oregon, Idaho and British Columbia.
....There were nine children in the family, all of whom are living and include Mrs. Estella Starcher, of Shoshone, Idaho; Mrs. Nettie May Pugh, Brighton, Colo.; Frank O. Stephenson, Portland, Ore.; Mrs. Sue S. Brennan and Mrs. L. E. Marsh, of Troutdale, Oregon; Mrs. Thomas Blunt, Florence, Colo.; Mrs. Mayme Frager, Flint, Mich.; Mrs. Myrtle Dawson, of Eugene, Ore., and Mrs. Goldie Spurrie, of Kelowna, B. C. He is also survived by one sister in Atchison, Kas., and two half brothers, Answell Stephenson, of Circleville, Las., and George Stephenson, of Lima, Ohio.
....The body will be brought to Florence for burial and is expected to arrive here tonight accompanied by Mrs. Marsh, of Troutdale, Ore. The funeral will be held from the Easton chapel tomorrow afternoon at 3:30, Rev. J. C. Watson, of the Methodist church officiating. Burial will be made in Highland cemetery under the direction of the Easton Funeral Home.
