Alwilda was born in Goderich of Huron County, Ontario, Canada. She immigrated to Michigan as a very young child. She was raised in Lapeer and Midland Counties, Michigan.

Alwilda and Dean married November 29, 1902 in Jasper Township of Midland County, Michigan. They had no biological children; however, they adopted son Peter as a young boy.

Wilda died in Pine River Township of Gratiot County, Michigan. She is buried with her mate and next to her parents.
