EDWIGA STACIA PEPPLER of Winter Springs, FL. She was the 4th of 6 children born to Antoni & Aleksandra Rafalowski. She graduated from St. Joseph's College in Hartford, CT, earned the first Masters of Nursing from Yale and served in the U.S. Navy Nurse Corps during WWII. She married Leonard Peppler, a Pearl Harbor survivor, in San Francisco on February 2, 1946. She established the Practical Nurse Education Program at Onslow Technical Ins. in Jacksonville, NC and her last years of teaching, were spent as Assistant Professor of Nursing at Pensacola Junior College. Surviving are her sons, Thomas (Helen) of Oviedo, FL, Stephen (Cindy) of Virginia Beach, VA and Kenneth (Tracey) of Winter Springs; sisters, Wanda Zyskoski and Alma Roginel; grandchildren: Stephanie (Matthew) Swope, Adam, Michelle, Nathan (Stephanie), Lindsay (Justin) Deaver, Tori, Kyle Peppler and Keegan Peppler and seven great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband, Leonard and son, Michael; sisters, Gladys Androski and Helen Potkay and brother, Arthur Raffey. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on November 15, 2010 at St. Stephen Catholic Community in Winter Springs.
