Birth: Jun. 11, 1903
Athens
Attica, Greece
Death: Oct. 16, 1997, France

HRH Princess Olga of Yugoslavia
Princess of Greece and Denmark

Royal House of Oldenburg
Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg

Royal House of Karađorđević

Eldest daughter HRH Prince Nicholas of Greece and Denmark and Grand Duchess Elena Vladimirovna Romanovna of Russia.

Paternal granddaughter of King George I of the Hellenes and Grand Duchess Olga Constantinovna Romanovna of Russia.

Maternal granddaughter of Grand Duke Vladimir Alexandrovich Romanov of Russia and Duchess Marie of Mecklenburg-Schwerin.

She was born in Tatoi Palace in Athens, and lived throughout Europe during her childhood while her family was in exile.

In 1923, her parents settled in Paris, and the same year Olga married HRH Prince Paul of Yugoslavia in Belgrade, Serbia.

She and Paul lived in Great Britain until 1934, when, on the death of King Alexander of Yugoslavia, her husband was made Regent of the country. Both of their sons were born in England, and daughter Elizabeth was born in Belgrade.

From 1941 until the end of the World War II, Olga and her family lived under house arrest in British Kenya after Prince Paul was forced from power in his native country.

After the war, the couple mainly resided in Paris, where she died in 1997. She is buried with her husband and son, Prince Nicholas, who was killed in an auto accident when he was twenty-five.

Olga was survived by her son, Prince Alexander of Yugoslavia; her daughter, Princess Elizabeth; grandsons, Princes Dimitri, Michael, Sergius and Dushan of Yugoslavia; and Nicholas Balfour; and granddaughters, Princess Helene of Yugoslavia and Catherine and Christina Oxenburg.
