Mrs. Pearl W. Collins, 82, died Thursday at the Salisbury Nursing Home after a short illness. Prior to going to the nursing home she had made her home with a son, James H. Collins, 115 Kendall St.
She was born in Pittsville. Her late husband was Oliver Dale Collins Sr. A son William West Collins was killed during World War II.
Mrs. Collins was the recipient in the mid-1950's of the "Good Neighbor Award" here. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and she was a Gold Star Mother.
Additional survivors are another son, Oliver Dale Collins, Silver Spring; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Holloway Funeral Home. The Rev. A. B. Frye will officiate. Interment will be in Parsons Cemetery.
