Ollie was born in Zafra, Indian Territory, Oklahoma, October 17, 1903, to Adam and Elizabeth "Lula" (Moore) Mowdy. She was a teacher for many years, teaching at Honobia and surrounding schools, and she was a store owner. Ollie married E.W. Hamby in Arkansas on December 26, 1926. She enjoyed piano, crochet and reading. She was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, E.W. Hamby, and a son, William E. Hamby.
She is survived by her son George N. Hamby, Durant; daughter Grace Berghauser, Durant; daughter Dixie Daniel and husband Carl of Pottsboro, Texas; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Interment will be in Ludlow Cemetery, Ludlow, Oklahoma. Brown's Funeral Service is handling the arrangements.
